Paint Spots: December '99

by Jeri Stone

This is the month for meetings, planning and reorganizing for the year 2000.  The Northwest Coordinating Committeemeeting and Banquet will be at The Shilo Inn in The Dallas, OR on December 4.  The Zone One meeting will be December 5th. at the same place.  There will be changes of personnel and many important issues to be discussed and votedon so make plans to be there.   If your Paint Horse Club or organization wants any information put in 'PAINT SPOTS' justsend me the information and I will be glad to pass it on.

We hope the following people are on the road to good health -  Kym Stump and Jim Schehen are recovering from surgeryand we hope they will be back "hopping" around soon.   Remember a card or note to these people would make theirrecovery time feel shorter.

Congratulations to Gwen St. Peters and Jim Carr on their recent marriage.

Mike and Christine Hinson of Ferndale, WA are the proud parents of James Michael born Oct. 2.

The Paint Horse Journal has featured Jim and Judy Schehen and Paintbrush Ranch in their November issue.  I enjoyedreading this article and I think you will too.

The Northwest will be treated to one of the biggest horse extravaganzas to ever take place in the State of Washington thisspring.  The Tri-Challenge Extravaganza and EQUIFAIR will be held April 26 - 30, 2000 at the Central WashingtonFairgrounds and Sun Dome in Yakima, WA.  Cleve Wells, Derek Anderson, Wendy Malone and other experts in differentequine specialities will be featured.  There will be a five breed horse show circuit with an APHA four judge circuit, fourjudge Appaloosa circuit, AQHA National qualifying point classes and a double judge Palomino and Buckskin Associationshow circuit.  There will also be NSBA, Open, NRHA Futurities and Tri-Challenge Hi-Point All Around Youth and NonPro Riders will be awarded.  Over 70 commercial exhibits will be at the EQUIFAIR.  For more information contact: JackieCollins (425) 481-9180.

Paint Horse Clubs in the Northwest need to remind their members to get a Brand Inspection on any horse they are haulingfrom state to state, to a public sale or a show.  The states are cracking down on horse haulers who do not have these on thehorses they have in the trailers.  Much of this is to do with horses being stolen.
