GOLDEN WEST QUARTER HORSES

Golden West Quarter Horse headquarters is located a mile West of Sprague, Washington, nestled in the natural scabrock of the area.

Steve Bovan, Virginia & T.J. McKay, owners, have been involved in horses their entire lives. Steve started showing professionally at the age of four as his dad was a riding instructor. As a youth he showed in working cowhorse, Pleasure and Equitation Classes at State and International Levels. Virginia did Endurance Riding and lots of ranch work. Both of them have qualified and participated in the Professional Team Penning Finals in Reno and Carson City, also qualifying for the Cascade Team Penning Finals numerous times. T.J. McKay, 16, rides colts, works on the ranch and team pens, winning numerous buckles and awards.

Trips to Fort Worth, Texas for the last several years have made it possible to gather up an exceptional broodmare band, including own daughters of Doc Quixote, Docs Hickory, Docs Lynx, Peppy San, Dry Dock, Chunkys Monkey, Doc Sug, Doc Tom Tucker and many more. Three stallions are crossed on these mares carrying bloodlines of Peppy San Badger, Doc Bar, Jewels Leo Bars, Cutter Bill and Nowata Star.

Futurity colts are their specialty, having Cutters, Reiners and Working Cowhorses showing in the U.S., Canada and Italy. Older horses are also available. You'll also find the Golden West Quarter Horse brand on barrel, ranch, penning, show and trail horses from Texas to Alaska.

The colts get a well rounded education. It begins on the mares side running on thousands of acres of rough country. Halter breaking and weaning are done in October. They are started the Spring of their second year, this is where the Futurity colts start to shine. The colts see a lot of the arena, then on to real life and wet saddle blankets, on a true working cattle ranch.

Prices are kept as low as possible. The horses are guaranteed for 30 days, full money back, no excuses needed. How can you beat that?
