The author of Imprint Training of the Newborn Foal, and other books and videos, brings his 30 years of equine practice and a lifetime as a horseman to this video. His presentation of Defensive Horsemanship, especially the "three points of contact," is certain to captivate enthusiasts, certainly beginners.
Ample evidence of Dr. Miller's long and varied experience shines through this video. His safety lessons apply to the rider as well as the horse. His opinions come across as steady judgments rather than just considered "correctness." When he says he never turns a horse loose without removing it's halter, he is believable.
He wears a big cowboy hat when mounted on his horse, but he doesn't wear a helmet. While he avoids any fuzzy logic on why this most important safety consideration is personally avoided, he does say that he "advocates" wearing one. This was the most disappointing aspect of an otherwise instructive video.
